#65266 - RE: TROUBLESHOOTING THE ASIM KHAN PROGRAMMER Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi all,
To report todays progress. Used the following QBASIC Prog. to pulse Parallel Port at address &H378 and &H37A. Toggling &H37A causes the program LED (connected to T3 collector) to flash on and off. This was the design result and it was acheived. Conclusion- Communication between computer and programmer is OK to this extent. Changing the value of x in the following prog, allows the monitoring of various bits. An analogue meter connected at the various pins indicates that fan out is not an issue at the slow rate of 1 pulse per sec. Hopefully it shouldn't be at the higher rate. To test READ capability following done. 1. Microcontroller removed from ZIF socket. 2. Pin39 grounded by a flying lead. 3. Read Signature byte thru software. Result FE FE FE. 4. Also grounded MSB. 5. Read Signature byte using software. Result as expected Conclusion. Read subsystem is OK to the extent of sendind in the data to PC. -------------------------------- 5 x = 255 10 DEF SEG = 0 15 CLS 20 FOR a = 1 TO 30 30 SELECT CASE x CASE 255 x = 127 CASE 127 x = 255 50 END SELECT 130 PRINT a, x 140 OUT (&H378), x 150 GOSUB 170 160 NEXT a 165 END 170 FOR b = 1 TO 900000 180 NEXT b 190 RETURN ---------------------------------- What now?
