I agree with Erik. the trigger noise is a big problem.
I bought a 100 MS/sec picoscope to monitor a 20 MHz signal, there was no way to keep the signal steady due to trigger noise.
I think why re invent the wheel, by ready made digital scope and concentrate on building something better.
