#81197 - RE: This is the unreliable item Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Raghu,
Thanks a lot for your post and that photgraph. Thanks for the efforts you took taking and posting this photograph. The connectors that I am talking about is exactly same as the two connectors seen on the right hand side in your photograph. Yes the one next to the RMC4 text. I have had some success with TVS make connectors which come with a latch ( actually you need some effort to separate the assembly). And please note that these connectors have no endurance rating and hence too many insertions and removals ( say about 50 to 100 times) render them useless. And don't exceed 8 pin assemblies at any time - you do get 10 and 12 pin but they are hopeless. The image that I have posted is a general purpose experiment PCB and been in use the last 8 months - no issues till date with relimates. And these are not even the latched variety. Raghu will you please tell me the MOQ, price and source for the TVS latch connectors and the reliable Relimate connectors you are talking about. In fact nowadays you get much better ones - I atleast have not faced such unreliability as mentioned You seem to buying these relimate connectors from some reliable source and the connectors too seems to be good quality one please tell me the source and MOQ for these. I have tried my best searching in the local market here at lemington road and tried several diffrent but these are totally hopeless connectors. I even contacted molex distributor but they ask for MOQ of 1000 units. In fact todays whole day I kept fighting with the connectors when the connector was pressed hard in the palm the LCD worked fine and when released it stoped functioning. If possible switch over to FRC connectors - far more reliable. And if you need to handle power ( Vcc, Vee) then use the power locks. Since my LCD and keypad dont have dual row pins but single row no chance of switching to FRC. you tell me your connectors source I won't even mind coming to banglore in the hunt for reliable connectors I am totally frustated with the fact that in a city like Mumbai you don't get reliable connectors. Thanks & Regards, Prahlad Purohit |
