#82762 - serial parallel ? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hello again,
till now i can't find atmel crocessor with configurable ports. If someone now one please inform me. I know the issue with the pull-ups in parallel and the risk of overload, thats way i ask for help, and alternative realization. What if I use 74hct245 as buffer on every slave. This way I will cut the bus on peaces. Every slave has 2/3 load behind the buffer, and the buffers are connected all in parallel. The only problem left is to control the DIR and OE pins of the buffers. The other way to stick with parallel bus is to use configurable port processors(if I can find some), byt in this situation can someone suggest buffer with open collector ports(for the other signals). Serial situation can work ok. Byt except the data/address bus i have 5 other signal lines. And i can't transfer them in software level (to transfer them over the serial bus). For example one of the line is critical halt(can't afford missing this signal or delaying it). Any suggestion how to escape from this situation. Probably som sort of serial+parallel bus will be the answer. But again i fall in the situation where i must connect 10+ devices in parallel. If i chose SPI(most atmel's 8051 has one) any suggestion how to realize the addressing of the slaves(CS signals). |
