2) What if i trow out the idea for single internal bus. I can use SPI for the slower devices. And to prepare a fast parallel bus (open collector with push-pull transmitter) for the faster devices. Ore something like that. 1) You stated "WILL use Atmel", I know of no Atmel chip with less than 6 clocks per instruction cycle. Also at 6 clocks you would need 30MHz to attain 300k and AFAIK the 6 clock Atmels go no faster than 20 MHz 2) The calculation of instruction cycles I showed above is just as valid for a bus with 2 nodes as for a bus with 32. Push-pull or '245 will not change the max attainable bus speed. again "WILL use Atmel" AFAIK does not give you Push_pull. Having worked in several countries in my career, I can appreciate your supplier situation; however, if only chip x is available, you must modify your requirements to something possible with chip x.
