Depending on your speed requirements you might consider something like "flash drives" - these are available in sizes nearing a gigabyte. Of course the USB drive would either require an USB master chip or bypassing the USB interface to access the memory directly, but using a serial interface memory is a way you get rid of most of the problems with paging, switching chips, multitude of paths etc. At expense of access speed of course. |
