Thanks to everyone for their input.
I don't know what I was thinking yesterday but not only did I ask about 512MB+ instead of 512KB+, I was thinking 512MB too thus I was at a loss for ideas. I think I was thinking 512KB-16MB and started thinking about SIMMs and DIMMs and then somehow forgot that I was originally thinking about KB and just started thing MB across the board. There are plenty of realistic options for as much as 2MB. There's a 2MB 32-pin DIP which will work with no problem. Downside is that it looks like it's about $60 at Digikey--it's also NVRAM which is nice, but it's a feature I don't need and would rather not pay for. Any recommendations on memory ICs in that neighborhood but without the NVRAM backup which, presumably, would make the price more reasonable? Regards, Craig Steiner |
