#85228 - DS80C400? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
- do you really need so big memory? Do you will ever need MORE than this (expandability)?
up to 16M in "flat" mode (3-byte DPTR, the memory "feels" like normal XRAM/program memory) - has this be fast for reading, fast for writing? At 70MIPS or so, no worry. - is processor execution power precious? Takes several cycles, but out of the 70something MIPS speed. - are there many spare pins on the mcu? Out of the 6 ports, still quite a few free pins remain. - is price an issue? Yes. - is it board space/device volume critical? LQFP100. Damned unpleasant for "hand made" devices but reasonably small. - how fast after power-up should this be ready to run? - The unit would boot from on-chip code memory Sorry, unless the built-in OS/TCP stack is what you want. No internal programmable flash. A part of the external RAM must contain the program. |
