#86765 - ... with Basic?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hummm, if they are easily available from multiple sources here in Slovakia (= basically middle of nowhere :-) why should they be not readily available in the USA?

Unfortunately, my mod of the Basic52 works best with the Temic, now Atmel's variety of RD2. Although I was planning to make ports, I have no time to do it - and it is bnot so straighforward than with the Atmel. Its advantage is, that the Flash can be programmed on a byte-by-byte basis, with no need to erase.

The drawback of Philips' P89C51RD2 is, that it's FLASH needs to be erased in big chunks - and so it is with P89C668 (which would be an optimum choice with its 7.75kB of RAM), and similar is the high speed Dallas DS89C450 (which sits sadly on my workbench - for the very same reason). A viable option is P89V51RD2 (erased in 128Bytes chunks), some SST parts (not very available here), and I am planning for ADuC841 - erased in 64 Bytes and faaaaaast. SiLabs chips might perhaps be used, but I had not ime to study them further.

PS. Sorry, AT89C51RD2 is in PLCC/xQFP only. The AT89C51ED2 is in DIL40, contains plus 2kB EEPROM and is basically the same price.
