Just for clarification I would add this hypothetical (again based on my own understanding of the subject).
If a system has two processors, and it devotes 100% of the clock cycles from each processor to a single executable each (for a total of two executables), then strictly speaking the system would be doing multiple tasks but it would not be multitasking. Instead, it would be running two executables in real time as independent threads. |
