For best accuracy, you should use mechanical low impedance switches as a relays, driven by array of Darlington transistors.

Relays are switched by 5, 12 or 24 VDC, Array of transitor can be ULA 2803 or any kind.
74HC04 with open colector can be great.

You can build feedback resistor with line of tree resitors and make shorts with relays to change range.
you need three pins for driving range.

You should use a kontraktron low impedance relay or any metrical relays. All should be screened or shielded.
