Dear Michael,
Thanks for your reply, If the 400 ohm minimum ON resistance of the MAX4534 is too high for your application then go to the Maxim web site and select from one of many other parts. 400 Ohms or any other value on state resistance wouldnt be a problem if thats predictable and pretty consistant under all operating conditions. But if its unpredictable and varying on state resistance than this option is not feasible. By varying resistance I mean variation due to operating conditions such as Temperature [ 0-45 Deg Celcius ], Humidity [ 15 to 85% ], Variations in IC to IC etc. As I said in an earlier reply I am using three resistors and one of them has to be in the circuit for respective gain. These resistors are. 1. 44k 2. 22k 3. 14.67k If the error induced due to the analog switch is no more than 0.1% than it would be fine. Kindly do let me know if on state resistance and leakage current are predictable and specified in the datasheets or not? I am totally new to analog switches and have never used them. I am using splitted ground planes for the Analog section and Digital section. If I use an analog switch its very likely that I will need to keep it in Analog section and it will need the switch control signal from digital signals. In this case the switch control signals will travel from Digital section to Analog section and will be crossing the splitted plane boundry. Can this create noise problems? At present I have no signal going from Ananlog Section do Digital section and Vice versa. Thanks & Regards, Prahlad Purohit |
