#90289 - to simm or not to simm
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I am not sure that simmstick is that smart. You cant use it without the special bords - the plug part of the connector is part of the board.

The DIN 41612 connector is a low cost way to get acces to all the µc's i/o pins, its pretty standard, and you dont need a special xyz board. Any breadboard with a pads for a DIN 41612 will do.

I'll think the main target for this board is the professional, who wants to have some hardware to develop and test his software on. The protype might not be ready yet. Or some initial testing must be done, before the prototype can be made.

This way around you dont have to mingle with processor, reset PSU and 232 i/f. Its done, and its done right. You got all the i/o at hand, and can simple ad your switches, displays, etc.

Working on several projects? Well, either remove the µc board from the breadboard, and insert another breadboard. Or simply buy another µc board - they should be low cost. Ad your avorite processor in a PLCC 44 package and off you go. If DIL housing is an issue, it will be quite simple to make DIL version of the card.
