#90771 - What is dangerous?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
What is dangerous? No one is going to get me to voluntarily jump out of an airplane, many do so as a hobby.

Again, there is (in the opinion of a few of us) a (slightly?) larger risk of chock using optos than using transformers, if you can live with that, that is your decision.

If you want to be an idiot, you can get shocked by almost anything including transformers, if you are careful (rubber mat, one hand in pocket) you can touch a live wire.

Again, please, whatever you do, I urge you to make a separate board for the "220 to 5 conversion".
One engineer working for a company I worked for is not with us any more (he overrode the safety switch for the high voltage box).
Be careful, even the smartest home automation is not worth a human life. You can save a few bucks by risking, please do not.

Be careful, good luck

Erik
