#91063 - Wiping off brains
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Based on that, I never even glance at something done for another company, but if I am asked to make the '51 do the hula, and have done that before, I have no hesitation doing that again (from scratch).

That was worded well. But who knows - maybe there will come a day when you resign from a company, and after your settlement is over, you will be asked to walk thorugh a "SelectiveBrainWiper" that will erase all relevant memory of that company ;-)

Anyway with today's proliferation of mass storage devices like the tiny memory sticks coupled with the use of notebooks, it is very difficult to safe gaurd software. Before the advent of these, the software guy who used to work for us developed the code on the PC meant for the machine and it was easy to avoid code theft.( That machine never used to have a FDD )I am not saying it was impossible for him/her to copy the code but it was difficult. But now situation is different. With memory sticks, CD_R/W drives etc and copying is just a click away. And to make things even more easy, the notebook is with him always.
