#92475 - SDCC Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I've been using SDCC on a TI MSC1210 in a current project. I'd say that SDCC is fine for smaller projects, but its inherent limitations become apparent as the application grows. I've found workarounds for those limitations but they are not elegant.
Once the project is done and I have some spare time, I plan to run the program through other 8052 compilers and get a good real-life comparison of code size efficiency. I'm always a little skeptical of benchmarks. Anyway, I can't imagine you'd have any problems using SDCC with any particular 8052 beyond the problems you're going to have with SDCC in general.
