#92996 - LCD Contrast - Vignesh Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear vignesh,
Does this imply that maximum contrast is obtained when contrast pin is grounded ? I have used JHD162A in past but now a days I use only Oriole ODM series LCD's in both the cases the contrast goes max. when you turn the pot towards extreme 0V side thus when you connect contrast control pin with 0V its max contrast with all the blocks complete balck and hardly anything readable. On my ODM modules the contrast control voltage is usually between 0.5 and 0.7 volts. Well, if the above arrangement is made, Prahalad, I am afraid that the contrast pin can go upto Vcc. Doesnt this damage the module? Yes it can go upto Vcc but with my Oriole ODM and JHD162A I never had any problems with the said arrangement and infact thats what 99.19% of the people do for contrast control.
