There is a thing about adding checking circuits that always bother me: what if the checking circuit fail.

I recall once in France, two engineers were discussing how to run le metro by computer. They discussed two computers running in parallel and a third checking for identical operation. You should have seen their faces when I asked "what checks the thid computer?"
