You are Absolutely right,
But please test this range of input signal before all of your 3 ways,I know it seems this way is not reliable that "In a special range of input signal the Mcu hangs"
In one my project my optoisolator was damaged and the output was in this range of signal,so mcu couldn't realize it and it was stoped when it was reading appropriate pin
