Oh, storytime? :-)
Grew up on a clone of ZX-Spectrum, written a couple of games (mainly to entertain my friends and myself - somebody wants a clone of Tetris? :-) ). While doing PhD I was looking as a part-time job I started in a small company (then) as a technician, but soon found out I can (re)program the 6502-based boards that were used there. Almost no HW knowledge, did a couple of 74xx-based small thinkgs only because there was nobody else to do it. Then a project came which was too small for a microprocessor board. A friend of mine came up with the idea to use the el-cheapo AT89C2051, so we hired him to design it. After it was all done, we found out that we need an upgrade (extra features) and my friend was already working abroad. Well, so I learned almost all of the '51 from his documentation and comments in program... Jan Waclawek |
