Best way to learn is to make something which you will use everyday,it doesn't matter how simple it is or how long it takes because if its something that you can take pride in and point it out to people and say I made that then you cannot be going too far wrong.
As an example I recently made a device which has a simple software barcode reader and a serial flash memory and all it does is allows partialy sighted people to put sticky bar coded labels onto audio cassetes,cd case or whatever,they scan the bar code and it either plays a PCM sample from the flash which is a recorded description of the item,or it allows the user to record a new description,Its not complicated but its something which costs a fortune to buy and it gets used every day. |
