#101374 - USB as mentioned below sounds good, but Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It means having an 8051 with two UART's or two interconnected 8051's with one UART each. Do you have any words of wisdom in that respect?
USB as mentioned below sounds good, but if you want to stick with RS232, I would use a SILabs chip. Your master will, (at least was it my doings) need some debugging and with the SILabs chip you get "ICE capability" for free. I know that the f12x probably is 10 times more expensive than your slaves, but for one out of 120 chips that should not deter you. Erik PS Do not buy the EC2 adapter you will need, but a devkit instead. The devkit includes the EC2, the cable (you do not get one when buying the EC2 separately), the software (saves you a lengthy download) and a protoboard, all for about $15 more than just the EC2. |
