What I did say, essentially, was, "Answer the %$#@! question first, THEN make any suggestions you like." Above all, I discourage attacking the initial proposal. Most of the time, it's an assignment, either from an instructor following a decades-old lesson plan, or an ignorant boss who hasn't kept up with the technology.
It's possible to learn from "old" technology. That doesn't mean one has to use it all the time. Remember, I said, "If you were serious about this..." clearly in the subjunctive. Sometimes one has to work with what one has on hand, as in this case, in order to accomplish what one wishes within a given time-frame. RE |
