#117560 - No problems detected
Responding to: ???'s previous message
I use AT89C2051 and AT89S8252 over many years and never a single device failed.

Unfortunately the AT89S8252 was discontinued, so I must redesign the pcbs and replace it with the AT89C51CC01.

The AT89S8253 was named as replacement, but this is rubbish, because it is unable to hold the EEPROM content (factory calibration) during a software update.

This was the only bad experience, which I made with Atmel 8051 parts.

Maybe Erik, you can explain, which problems you faced with the Atmels.
