My first 8008 CPU was converted into a tie-tack in '82 or so. I made cuff-links out of SMD controllers from Western Digital, and another Christmas gift tie-tacks from some NSC 5203 EPROMs in those pretty white-ceramic with Gold-Lid+quartz-window packages. They were well received. I had enough of them to be useful, but they were not supported on any but device-specific dedicated programmers, so I never used them after '77 when I got some 5-volt-only 2716's.
Those were the days when an individual with more time and imagination than money could really DO SOMETHING and I miss 'em. RE |
