Yes, if his oscillator is working, he can see that on ALE. However, I believe he's already aware that it's not oscillating.

'Scope probes (10x) won't add enough capacitance to stop the oscillation. They only add about 15 pf. It could, of course, change the frequency and duty cycle, but really shouldn't stop the oscillation cold.

Surely he's not using a 1x probe!
