What reason would ANYONE have, for providing access to known documents from other sources through a registartion requirement, but to collect a spamming list?

Oh, of course, it can be that he want to show the world that his site is better than 8052, another losing proposition

PS this is the second 'visyor' we have had this year that anser everyrhing with "visit my site" is this a growing trend, I hope not.
