"Cheese Danish," the latter referring to a "Danish" pastry, though I doubt they're really Danish

There is no such thing as a "Cheese Danish" to be found in the country of Denmark. However many other varieties of what is known as "a Danish" in the US are common in Denmark, they, however are refererred to as "Wienerbroed (Wienese Bread)".
