no worse than scanning keyboard,
like many control loops that consist of (1) examine inputs (2) take appropriate action (3) do it again forever a) no sensible person would scan a keyboard in an infernal loop, it woud be done on a timer interrupt b) If you are 5 milliseconds late in scanning a keyboard, so what, if you are 5ms late in reading Rxd OOPS c) apples have a different consitency and taste than oranges Erik Not every sensible person had a timer avaiable, back then, yet they managed SW Uart pretty readily, including the early work by Bill Gates and friends, in the mid-70's. If you can't time things to within 2-3% of the baud rate clock, you have problems that can't be dealt-with here. Maybe that relates to your preoccupation with fruits. RE |
