Until the documentation is brought up the minute, Linux will always be a stepchild. The problem is that there's no official manual. Until the open-source community starts doing things right, namely doing the doc's first, and then writing the code to match the doc's, it will always be out of phase. The open source community relies too much on those guys who make money publishing bogus books on the subject.
I don't doubt that there's reason to believe what you say about M$, but it's the reality of the moment. I've got Fedora in the other room, waiting to be installed on a clean system. I'll be giving it a try, but I've struggled with *nix since the '80's an have never become comfortable with it. RE |
