If a microcontroller only depends on internal flash, and the flash screws up, the microcontroller is dead, and useless.
TOTALLY and ABSOLUTELY incorrect. if "the flash screws up" it can be reprogrammed (via ISP if that is part of the chip)

I meant hardware wise, not software wise. If the software in the flash was screwed up, then I agree with you.
