It seems you have the solution then as for the choice of compiler, don't you... I assume your consultant did so already. May we know the result, or perhaps even the reasoning?

PS The speed difference between the two platforms might be partially balanced by the architecture difference, AVR being supposedly more suitable for C... So, if loss of color means 3x less raw processing roughly (I don't know just guessing) and the smaller sign is half of the bigger, 100/3/2=16, the AVR should manage it...
