I don't propose to do anything about perceived "rudeness" from posters who take offence at the un-offensive. That is REAL censorship and political correctness.
The particular thread that was blocked for 'flame war' and Kais thread commenting on it is a great example of this. The OP percieved the fact that he did not get what he wanted (ready made code) as 'rudeness'. It is emminently possible to 'read' anything as 'rudeness' and some are extremely senitive to such. I totally second Steves comment since saying "your suggestion will never work" by some is percieved as rudeness, but much more effective than "What you propose seens very intelligent, but there are some aspects of it that makes me doubt that you will get it to work". I can fully support the 'be nice' but if that end up as 'do not be blunt' we will have some awfully long threads that, while 'nice' are never going to get to the solution. Erik |
