#136331 - re SMS and CAPS Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The person using SMS isn't probably trying to intentionally annoy anyone and the person that writes in all caps probably doesn't mean to shout.
In 95% of the cases this IS true, but, if not advised, "the person" will continue. There was a famous case in the Keil forum (OK not 'famous' enough for me to remember words for a search and give a link) where, after umpteen responses it was found out that the use of SMS had oblitterated the question so that EVERY reponder misunderstood it. The OP was in such a "stage of beginning" that he followed every wrong suggestion and everybody got more and more mystified till the OP restated the problem in another form. I would say that if a SMS/ALL CAPS user continue the practice through umpteen posts you will get annoyed, even though you may not be "easily" annoyed. Thus, I suggest (in any form or fashion) there should be a "cease this" method. If posting "stop the SMS" is not allowed by the new rulse, something else should be inserted. Erik |
