SiLabs also provide a virtual COM port driver, don't they?
Near as I can tell that only works with the application specific USB-to-Serial chips. You can't write firmware for those chips and they don't seem to want to release the firmware for that application so that we can embed it in the standard micros they sell. That's my take anyway. I would have loved to taken their USB side code and put it into an F340 project so that it would appear as a VCP on a PC (using the SILabs driver). |
