I guess it all pays the same, regardless of what you're asked to do, but, having tired of situations where I, the junior member of the team knew more than the combined remainder of the team, about what we were doing, or, at least supposed to be doing, I struck out on my own some decades ago. That way, I could take a position if I wanted, and do the consulting on the side, or I could make the consulting my mainstream effort. It's been that way for nearly two decades now ...
