#142945 - reset supervisors |
Hello,
after reading some other threads I'd like to collect usable information what exactly makes a reset supervisor. My personal experience on breadboard designs verifies the opinion that RC resets are not really suitable, tested mainly for Atmel chips including T89C51CC02, 89S52 and 89C2051. I personally use a MAX700 for reset control. However I'd like to know what exactly makes this a real supervisor instead of just generating proper reset pulses. I use it only in the latter way by connecting the RESET out to the RESET in of the uC in charge. It monitors VCC indirectly as this IC ofcourse needs the 5V as the uC so they are connected that way. I'm mainly confused so in short: a usable description on reset generating cirsuit vs reset supervisor Any input is really appreciated. thanks, Matthias |
