This apnote shows nicely how to access the MMC...but it appears to be direct read and write. It doesn't have the file system on top of this low level read and write which is necessary to be able to access the data via a PC as Alan specified. (Unless he also wants to implement on a PC a direct access system and skip the usual file system access the card readers I've seen offer.)
