No I have not lost interest. Just freaking because this grand scheme doesn't appear to be playing out. My other option was to use some kind of serial memory device to store the data and then print it directly to a printer using the 89LP device. BUT I had contacted three different printer companies and asked them to recommend a printer and tell me what codes are necessary to make the printer print and not one printer company bothered to respond. With that lack of knowlwedge I was forced to explore the removable memory option. That doesn't seem to be working either. The CPU to printer interface would have to be USB in nature and I don't have any information on using a 89LP to communicate with a printer using that interface. USB interfaces are still a mystery to me and I wanted to use a medium I was familiar with. ie. removable memory to laptop - visual basic program to decode and print reports. If someone can make developing a USB interface to a printer understandable to me I will use that option. I have until Friday to present a schematic of this design and am staring at a blank piece of paper and a sharpened #2 pencil.
