Oki seems to be the only manufacturer still making the standard dot matrix printers (apart from specialty printers). The control codes etc are in the manual suplied with the printers (last time I looked).

The beauty of dot matrix printers is that you send a line of test, it prints a line of text rather than,say, a laser where you need to send the whole page in one go.
