One other thing I'd recommend, is not to purchase the cheapest available if the OS you need to use is not supported. Make support of the OS you need to use a condition of your purchase. If they don't support your OS, then you shouldn't buy their product.
Oft forgotten and then we see the whining post "I bought this why can it not run under Linus?" the reply "economic facts" is always either not understood or ignorantly refuted. To ask that is fine, however the fact is that many (types of) tools are just not available for anything but Windows. Thus your choice is either to bite the bullet and install Windows or spend your career reverse engineering tools. Erik PS I have nothing against Linux, per se, I am sure it is a fine OS. I have nothing against manufacturers that do not provide Linux software, sheer economic facts dictate that. |
