I don't think me or Jeff needs to "be smarter" here. I simply used an acronym I believed to be understood as well as "AFAIK" etc. - and I think Jeff did so for the same reason.

It happens quite often that native english speakers here use a not-so-common word even if it's quite evident that this word would be hard to understand for the "rest of world". Nobody HERE does this to show up (although believe me this DOES happen in real life); they simply try to use the most appropriate word to the situation. I can then either simply look it up in a dictionary, or ask - I am not shy to do it, why would I.

I am also now making a mental note for myself not to use this acronym here anymore.
