What would be advantages and disadvantages of both. I have not yet got my final design in mind but I might switch to either depending on what my application demands.

As I understand, in multiplexed I would need to continually refresh the grid. But in non-multiplexed, the LEDs would not be refreshed. Am I right?

My bar graph might have to be real time, so everything has to happen fast. And the 42 LED was just an example, in reality I might have more or even less columns, depending on what kind of grid is available.

Your comments on this would be highly appreciated.
