#156894 - Probably missing some problem Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I haven't tested colors, but intensity + scrolling + multiplexing + "effects" with a maximum of 960 * 32 diodes (only 240*32 connected - the rest of the bits sent out into the void).
But I'm probably missing something. The only really problematic thing for the software in regards to multiplexing is to adjust the intensity of individual diodes - something that I can't see easily solved with any other drive method, unless I have the advantage of having a single processor pin / LED. A longer shift register would still require "over-sampled" data to make some characters light more or less, or are there shift registers that takes more than one bit/LED? I just got my hands on a single-color 17280 LED multiplexed sign that I have to figure out something nice to do with. Vertically mounted it would be a quite big Tetris. |
