This is not EXACTLY a technical doubt, but related to embedded systems :) ....

I am planning to do my MS in the US sometime next year... hopefully in Embedded Systems, since that is where my interest lies :D

What is the research potential and scope of Emb Sys? It is supposed to be the HOT thing in industry right now, but how true is that? I suppose there are many visitors to this forum who are in the thick of the embedded industry who can help me out...

Also exactly what-all topics (ASIC, FPGA etc) do courses in this field include? What is stressed in the courses? Can Robotics be related to embedded? (Since I have an interest in AI too :D ... )

And could anyone maybe suggest good universities for MS in Embedded Sys? Non-US (UK, Canada, Germany...)univs are also OK, but some sort of financial aid is important for me.

I am open to any and all suggestions/ comments. I am sure my list of questions will go on expanding as your answers keep pouring in :))

I got my GRE coming up reallll soon, actually, so I think it is high time I decided !!!
