You are right to some extent. I am a silent visitor of this forum, and I have observed that senior people reply in such a manner which is not good, e.g.

Use "SEARCH" button located on the left.

secondly, I think some people just take part to rasie their star ratings.

In my opinion, if you don't have time to answer, or provide the right direction, then silence is a good choice.
