If you absolutotally have to use the crap 8255, forget about port1. You need to memory map it. Hal tells you above how to get the chip select - again why on earth not use a PLD - and then you connect the output from your ALE latch to the - is it two or 3 - address lines of the crap 8255. Then connect port 0 to the data lines of the crap 8255. This is the way it was done when the king of diamonds was a jack.
