For the small scale and the non-pro use that many in the forum use it for, its fine. Its hard enough to get to grips with MCU hardware without asking people to write CPLD code as well. I do incidentally use the dynamic mode changing on 8255s in our core instrumentation computer system. Thanks for the reference too.
