#29175 - RE: Defining base address |
pranav,
"i had to wait in idle loop before it was getting reset". Which, i think, is Erik's point. Now i have long experience with 82xx, 65xx, 68xx, parts and didn't have to clock @ 5Mhz to find them , i just had to test them for mission critical applications. Of course their modern cousins also display their "warts" in this environment. As an aside, it's funny to think that PC chipsets actually specify their 82xx component equivalents to exibit the same bug's as the original devices. This is, of course, to conform to "legacy" programming techniques. To this day i think the 82C54 is a great Timer. However, i still admire the 80C85 and i8085AH1. regards, p |
