Yes I also have the same query as Lee.

In fact just to be on the safe side have been providing this on all the 317 circuits that I build. And as Lee already pointed out, the inputs are with heavy electrolytics like 4700 uf or 10000 uf .

Maybe someone can throw some light on this quickie.
